More Fun Stuff!

I had a gift card to Best Buy (leftover from Christmas) and there was only $8 left on it. About a month ago, all of the Animal Crossing Amiibo went on sale there, and suddenly I knew what I was going to spend my $8 on! πŸ˜‰

Now, as you all probably know, I am a huge fan of Animal Crossing. However, when the Animal Crossing Amiibo all came out, I abstained from buying most of them. I got Isabelle and Digby, but only because they came with Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival. I LIKED the Amiibo well enough, but I try to only buy figures that I REALLY love, and none of those particular characters were my absolute favorites. But I can’t resist a good deal, and when I see Amiibos dirt cheap, I have to get them! πŸ˜‰

I ended up getting Mabel and Tom Nook, both for $1.99 each…

And the set of Cyrus, K.K. Slider (okay, I do really love him), and Reese for only $3.99!

I’m pretty happy with my purchases! While I was there, I found this ADORABLE Mimikyu box set that I couldn’t resist:

Mimikyu’s story just breaks my little heart! Apparently its true form is so ugly and terrifying, it can’t show itself or people will die or something like that. So it puts on a rag to make itself look like Pikachu so it can make friends. 😦 Anyway, this set came with a pin and a special Mimikyu trading card.

Here’s a close-up of the pin, just because it’s so damn cute!

It also came with 3 booster packs! Now, I haven’t purchased PokΓ©mon cards in a long time, but it was still fun to get these and open them up! Each pack came with 10 cards- 8 PokΓ©mon cards and 2 trainer cards.

Here’s what I got from the first pack (Fates Collide)…

the second pack (Sun & Moon)…

and the third pack (also Sun & Moon).

I normally don’t keep “trainer” cards because I don’t actually play the card game, I just like to collect all the PokΓ©mon! πŸ˜‰ I did keep the Ultra Ball trainer shown in the third pack though, just because it looked fun and shiny!

On a subsequent trip to Best Buy, I bought this:

I love Mario Party games even though they can be extremely aggravating, and I own all of them. It’s my dirty little secret! Actually, I was thinking about planning some Mario Party posts, so stay tuned for that! πŸ™‚

And just because it’s nice to treat yourself sometimes, and I’ve had a really shitty year, I bought myself a couple cheap things on Amazon. πŸ˜‰ The first is Persona 4: Golden for the PS Vita!

Since I started playing Persona 4: Dancing All Night and realized that iT was semi-sequel to P4G, I figured I needed to start at the beginning and play P4G first! I’m so looking forward to diving into this game.

I also got the Super Mario Adventures comic book!

In case you aren’t familiar, Super Mario Adventures comics were actually first published in Nintendo Power magazines. This book is the entire collection of comics, and I can’t wait to read it! It’ll be a fun, easy read.

Also, this panel depicting a Boo biting Mario’s ass made me laugh way more than it should have:

Anyway, those are some more goodies I’ve acquired recently. πŸ™‚

  1. Nice card pulls! I’ve been eyeing that Mimikyu pack for a while, just for that pin. I love Mimikyu so much! And so cool that you got the Super Mario Adventures comic book! I remember enjoying it so much from Nintendo Power. Also, great deal on those Animal Crossing amiibo! Wish I had waited to pick them up, haha. They’re just giving them away now.

    1. I think the Mimikyu pack is a great deal… it was only $15 and you get the pin, a Mimikyu card, and 30 extra Pokemon cards! The pin is the cutest thing ever!!

I’d like to think I have a pretty good memory, but I don’t really remember reading the Super Mario comics in Nintendo Power, and I read that magazine for years! I’m happy to have the chance to catch up on it now πŸ™‚

Aww, well it’s hard to know how things are going to sell when they first come out! No way of knowing that the AC Amiibo would get so cheap.

  2. You really got some goodies there! I’ve also got the same amiibo though I thought some time ago that I wouldn’t start collecting them. But who can resist AC?
The Persona 4 Golden!!! I’m very curious to hear what you think of the game. I loved it!

    1. It’s very hard to resist AC characters! πŸ˜‰ I’m surprised I held off for so long but I’m glad I waited!

I know you are a fan of Persona 4 Golden! πŸ™‚ I can’t wait to finally play it. I’m hoping I get the chance to really soon, if I can ever tear myself away from Harvest Moon: Animal Parade! πŸ˜‰

  3. Nice on the P4G! I was looking into that, but didn’t realize it was only for Vita. I have just plain P4 on my backlog. I saw the Mario comic in Barnes and Noble when I went there Monday! That picture is hilarious.

I was thinking about you today, because one of the YouTubers I follow is this music theorist, and he does breakdowns for video game music. He did this song from Kirby! I don’t remember what it was called exactly.. Something about “Kirby’s Gourmet Feast” maybe? It sounded like a more frenetic and complicated version of Tetris and was quite an awesome song πŸ™‚

    1. I’ve been wanting Persona 4 for awhile now myself, but I decided to get Persona 4 Golden because 1. I need more games for my Vita and 2. it’s got some extras on it that seem pretty neat! πŸ™‚

Haha, the Mario comic does look great! I really couldn’t resist getting it. I know it’ll be an easy read!

Oh really, that sounds pretty cool!! What is the YouTuber’s name? I may have to check it out! Kirby’s Gourmet Feast does sound about right… there are mini-games in some of the Kirby games where you are literally racing to eat more food than your opponent and it plays some crazy music! πŸ™‚ It really makes you feel like you have to hurry up, lol!

      1. Let me grab the link for you!

I’m a big music dork, but half the time I have no clue what he’s talking about. I was terrible at music theory lol, but he’s making me want to try to learn it again πŸ™‚

      2. I failed it miserably, but wish I could take it again! I can recognize similarities with songs, but I don’t have the language or the know how to explain it. My favorite video of his is definitely the Mario one.

  4. Omygawd, I didn’t know those Super Mario comics existed! I used to loving reading those in NP, and haven’t seen them in years. I need to invest in them!

      1. Hey thanks so much! Yeah I need to look that up on Amazon… I have the vaguest memory of a comic that suggested Mario/Wario were children together, and I promptly spent the next decade of my life thinking Wario was the long lost 3rd brother. I don’t think I’ve given up on that, either!

      2. Aww really? I read pretty much every Nintendo Power magazine when I was younger, but I don’t remember the comics at all! I like the idea of Wario as the long lost 3rd brother though!! πŸ˜‰

  5. Where to begin lol, what a fantastic sale on the animal crossing items your patience really paid off in the long run, fantastic comic there at the end looks like a ton of fun, fantastic post my dear very enjoyable
