What I’ve Been Playing Lately!

I know I haven’t been very good at posting much about the games I’ve been playing lately- sorry! It was fun to do my “Gaming Week in Review” posts, but it started to become a little bit of a chore. I feel like when it’s time to sit down and play a game, I want to just PLAY it, not worry about taking screenshots and remembering what I was doing to give a play by play of it later. So, I figured if I did more of a summary post of what I’ve been playing, that would be easier and more fun to do! Doing this once every few weeks or so is much less stressful than trying to put out a post like that every week.

Anyway, I’ve decided that I’m going to follow a format for gaming that I came up with awhile back: I’ll try to focus on one console game, one handheld game, and one mobile game at a time so that I actually finish more of my games! 😉

With that being said, the console game I am currently playing is still Harvest Moon: Animal Parade for the Nintendo Wii. I am still loving this game! I’ve made considerable progress since the last time I posted about it. There are 5 bells to ring in order to restore power to the Harvest Goddess and get everything running as it should be, and I’ve already managed to ring 4 of them! The only one I have left is the Purple Bell, which is literally going to take forever. You have to become friends with 10 people and hear their wishes. Once you hear their wishes, you take the wish to a shrine because they can’t seem to do it their damn selves!

I haven’t quite become friends with anyone yet, though I am currently working on Owen. I also want Owen to become my husband, so I give him the gift of rice every day and he is warming up to me, haha!

He gave me a gift… I think he likes me! 😉

Honestly, it doesn’t bother me that it is going to take awhile to ring the Purple Bell. I have so many upgrades I need to make to my farm, and there are so many different things to do, this game will keep me busy for a long time! Here is a screenshot of my current progress:

And this is how much money I’ve made so far. Not bad at all!

As far as handheld gaming goes, I’ve decided to forge ahead with The Legendary Starfy for the Nintendo DS. It is a fun game, but for some reason I play it, then put it away for long periods of time without actually finishing it! I’m going to try really hard to see this to completion, though. The last level I beat in this game was a boss battle against King Ping:

Starfy is happy, but I’m aggravated!

This guy was a total annoying douche who killed me a bunch of times because the attacks in this game are extremely cheap and you die way easier than you actually should! Ugh! I finally beat him though, and now I am getting ready to enter Sogwood Forest, which should be super wonderful.

World 4-1: Sogwood Forest: In a Fog is the exact name of the level I am currently on, in case you care!

In the world of mobile gaming, I’ve picked back up Juice Cubes on my iPhone! It’s a cute little game I’ve played before but never beaten, and the developers have added many levels on since the last time I’ve played. This game has a fun summertime vibe that I figured is perfect since it’s now summer! I’ve started from the beginning just to get myself re-acquainted with the game, so I’m only on Level 3!

The “Target Score” is actually just my high score since I’ve already beaten the level. I don’t know what the original Target Score is!

Even though there are three main games I am focusing on, there’s always room to play one of the Animal Crossing games! 🙂 Currently I’ve been playing Doubutsu no Mori for the Nintendo 64. I want to finally pay off my house! So I’ve been fishing, digging up fossils, and shaking trees to try to make tons of Bells! It’s been raining every time I play lately, but I don’t mind. The rain is soothing in all of the Animal Crossing games!

I just realized how much this screenshot sucks- you can’t really tell it’s raining! Oops!

I currently owe 339,000 Bells on this current expansion, so it’ll be awhile before my house is paid off.

There’s also always room to play Pokémon GO as well! I’ll do a separate post at the end of the month to fill you in on the new Pokémon I’ve acquired! 😉

So there you have it for the games I’ve been playing lately! I wish I had more time to play, but what else is new!

  1. I hear ya on the weekly posts! Trying to do those burnt me out on blogging and gaming back in February, haha. Keep updating us on whatever is a fun posting frequency for you 🙂

    1. I remember when you felt that way! I started to feel more like it was a chore, so that’s why I backed off from keeping an exact play by play of what I was doing. I think not putting myself on a schedule is better for me (even though I like to be organized!) 🙂

  2. You’ve been busy with lots of fun games! I do know what you mean about the writing about your games. It can indeed be a bit of a chore, and a self imposed one too!

    1. You are right! I started feeling like I HAD to keep track of everything I was doing, and I found I wasn’t enjoying the games as much! Writing about them every so often instead of once a week is much better option 🙂

  3. Status posts are a chore. I don’t take screenshots myself, but I try to keep running notes because I like to review what I play. I do notice in more likely to play more often if I know I have to update/report on it lol. It’s like I don’t want to be empty handed for show and tell 😋

    1. Haha I know what you mean! I like keeping track of everything I do in a game, but it does slow me down a little. I think it works better for me if I’m doing it for a game that’s slow paced anyway, like Animal Crossing!

  4. Harvest Moon Animal Parade is pretty cool. Tips for the purple bell: To get friends, give Maya hot milk, which is made by putting milk in the pot. Give Candance and Perry herb tea, which can be made by putting any herb in the pot. That should get you on a good start!

      1. Thank you so much for the tips! That’s very helpful. When I realized how much work actually goes in to getting the Purple Bell to ring, I was like wow… that is going to take forever haha! Luckily Animal Parade is a fun game, so I don’t mind.

Thanks so much for following me by the way! I followed you back and can’t wait to read your blog posts! 🙂
