My Gaming Week in Review (2/11- 2/18)!

No console gaming this week!

I visited my Animal Crossing: Wild World town of Booland this week. I was looking through my pockets to see what I had, and for some reason I had this gas mask… so I put it on. Creepy, but I like it!

imacreep

Elmer was crying because he missed me so much! Poor guy. He is also trying to move away, so I tried to convince him to stay in Booland. I don’t know if it worked yet or not!

sadelmer

Meanwhile, Robin found her way onto my Official Shit List. Piss off, Robin!

yousuckrobin

Luckily, Stitches was there to make me feel better. I just love that little guy!

Playstation Vita

Surprise! I picked up a Playstation Vita last Sunday! I went to a cool gaming store and got a whole bunch of goodies (goodbye, Christmas money!) so I’m going to do a blog post on that soon. The game I chose to buy with my Vita was Persona 4: Dancing All Night. I’ll be doing a First Impressions post of this game, so I won’t spoil anything here. In the meantime, check out the colorful loading screen!

Well, I beat Cooking Fever this week! At least, I beat the default restaurant that you start with (Fast Food Court). I reached experience level 9, which was nice.

experiencelevel9

After beating all 40 levels, this screen popped up.

levelscomplete

And here are my stats after beating every level!

fastfoodcourtfinalstats

Now that I’ve cleared all the levels, I really don’t have much motivation to upgrade that particular restaurant any further. I have 2 additional restaurants I can unlock as of right now, so I’ll save my coins and gems for those. For now, though, I consider the game beaten. I’ll definitely come back to it to play the other restaurants at some point though!

I played quite a bit of Pokémon GO this week! I hatched 2 eggs: one was a Meowth, one was a Tentacool. Kind of disappointing, since I already have both of those. I was hoping for a Gen. 2 baby, but oh well!

I finally evolved my Metapod into a Butterfree!

Since I have all of Caterpie’s evolutions now, it was time to pick a new Buddy! I decided on Goldeen, since I only need 4 more candies before I am able to evolve it.

I was pretty excited when the update rolled out this week and many new Pokémon became available!

morepokemon

I caught quite a few of the new Johto Pokémon. The first one I caught was Furret, who was standing right on top of my dog!

I also caught Sunkern…

Heracross…

Spinarak…

Cyndaquil…(I don’t know what happened to the picture I took as I caught it?)

cyndaquilpokedex

Hoothoot…

Chinchou…

and finally, Sentret!

I also reached Level 18 and earned a medal for registering 5 Johto region Pokémon to the Pokédex. Overall, it was a pretty successful week for Pokémon GO!

I finally got around to trying out Super Mario Run this week! I’m going to do a First Impressions post for this one too (geez, I have a lot of blog posts I need to write!) so here’s a pic of the loading screen! 😉

PC

No PC gaming this week!

Misc.

No misc. gaming this week!

So overall, I didn’t have a whole lot of free time for gaming this week. That’s always a bummer. At least I caught a bunch of new Pokémon and beat an iPhone game this week, so that’s progress! Thanks for reading!

My Gaming Week In Review (9/04- 9/10)!

Console

Nintendo 64

I finally revisited my Doubutsu no Mori town of Weezey- it’s been a couple months since I’ve played! Checking the bulletin board, I realized that there were fireworks every Saturday in August, and I missed them all! Bummer! A second notice on the board told me that there is a full moon (the harvest moon?) visible on 9/15, so I’ll have to try to remember to play.

It was pretty late when I played, so most of my animal friends were already asleep.

Since there wasn’t too much going on so late at night (or early in the morning, depending on how you look at it) I just walked around picking weeds and digging up stuff! I dug up some furniture, but when I placed it in my house…

stupiddoubleitems

It was two of the same item! How dumb!

While walking through town, I noticed a house I hadn’t seen before. The sign told me it belonged to Garigari (Nibbles in North America). She was already asleep though, so I decided to visit her the next day!

garigarishouse

The next day starting the game, there was a nice, steady rain. I had never bought an umbrella, so I went to the store and bought one. All they had was a red one with white polka dots, which isn’t really my favorite. It’ll do for now, though. While walking around, I noticed that TWO of my neigbors had the same umbrella! I guess it’s a popular style!

I then went and met GariGari. She is a little silly looking, but cute! The inside of her house was an eclectic mix of themes.

I also dug up 30,000 Bells, which was pretty awesome!

I also showed some love to my Animal Crossing town of Branvil this week. I haven’t visited there in a couple months, oops! Oddly enough, it was raining in this game as well.

rainrain

I got a very rude letter from my mom!

rudemother

What the hell! Anyway, after squashing roaches in my house, I traveled to Nookington’s, where I discovered the same umbrella I had just bought in Doubutsu no Mori for sale there as well! Too weird. I didn’t buy it, though, as I like my current flame umbrella much better 😉

samedamnumbrella

I then walked around and said hello to a few of my villagers who were still awake (they seem to go to bed much earlier in this game!). I also paused to watch Octavian stare at a fish in the pond, which was so cute! I woke up Gulliver, too, which took forever! He gave me a Mannekin Pis, yippee!

Besides that, I just walked around, pulled weeds and enjoyed the rain!

Nintendo Wii

I also showed a little bit of attention to my Animal Crossing: City Folk town of Spookie this week… and yep, it was raining there, too!

rainyspookieday

I knew I didn’t have a whole lot of time to play, but I still said hello to the villagers I ran into. Nan in particular seemed happy to see me!

nanhappy

I was so tired of my bedhead, so I stopped by Shampoodle for a new hairstyle. I was surprised when Harriet told me I would look good with a boy’s hairstyle, and she wanted to know if I wanted one! I hesitated for a moment, then decided to go for it! The result was very different… but I don’t mind it! 🙂

Lastly, I stopped by GracieGrace to see all the furniture I can’t afford! I really loved the cool psychedelic umbrella I found in there. It was only 3400 Bells, so I bought it! I also bought a new outfit at the Able Sisters, just to give the witch outfit I had been wearing for like 3 years a rest 😉

Nintendo DS

I visited my Animal Crossing: Wild World town of Booland this week as well- and came across something TERRIBLE!

stitchesmoving1

Stitches was all packed up and ready to move out! OH NO YOU DON’T! I cannot bear to think of Stitches moving away from me! I must’ve talked to him like 100 times, trying to convince him to stay.

Finally, just when I thought I wasn’t going to be able to convince him otherwise, he acted like he was leaning toward staying. Whew!

I also visited my other neighbors, who provided me with entertainment as usual! Sometimes they say the silliest things!

The next day, I had to play again to see if Stitches decided to stay in Booland or not. I was a little nervous, but once the title screen loaded, I was happy to see him walking around! Yay! I still played and talked to him, and he made no mention of moving. Stitches will remain in Booland for awhile longer! 🙂

Mobile

iPhone

I played a little bit of Crossy Road this week, which I haven’t played in awhile. I played several times, and I unlocked three characters, which were Epoch:

Pudding (wtf?):

and Capybara:

This is such a fun little game! It’s just perfect for when you have a couple minutes to pass, and I love unlocking new, weird characters!

I also caught several new Pokémon in Pokémon GO this week! They were Goldeen:

Zubat:

Clefairy:

Rhyhorn:

Nidoran:

and Caterpie:

I also hatched 3 eggs this week, which gave me a Spearow, a Geodude, and a Caterpie!

I also accidentally entered a Gym and started a battle. Needless to say, I got my ass handed to me. I knew none of my Pokémon were strong enough, but I didn’t know what I was doing! I need to read up on Gyms more before I start messing around in them.

shittygymbattle

Finally, I leveled up to Level 7 and got two new medals; one for catching 10 Grass-type Pokémon and one for catching 10 Bug-type Pokémon.

So, it was a pretty productive week in Pokémon GO! I am still enjoying this game a lot. Catching Pokémon and hatching eggs is so fun!

Weeds, Weeds Everywhere!

I decided to check up on Booland, my little town in Animal Crossing: Wild World today. I had one main goal in mind: finally pull all the weeds!

weedsweedseverywhere
I hate it when the weeds get out of hand…

The first thing I did when I started the game was sell off all the items I had in my inventory, since my pockets were full.

fullpockets
I must’ve played when Nookington’s was closed last time!

I wandered around town for awhile, just pulling weeds, shaking trees, and digging stuff up! I made sure to chat with my villagers, too.

I also met my newest villager, Alice! She moved in close to where Octavian was. I still miss Octavian, but Alice seems sweet enough.

I went through about half my town before I saved and quit for awhile. Later on, I resumed my game. Since it was dark outside, there were fireflies out. So pretty!

firefly
I love fireflies!

I finished walking around town and got all my weeds pulled. Now my town is beautiful again! 🙂 I also gave Antonio some medicine because he wasn’t feeling well.

Lastly, since it’s Saturday night, I stopped by the café to listen to K.K. Slider. He played K.K. Lament for me.

kklament

The song isn’t bad, though this is one of the rare instances where I like his actual performance better than the aircheck you put in your radio at home. After that, I ended my game for the night!

Bright Nights in Animal Crossing: Wild World!

Bright Nights is a week-long event that takes place the second week of February in Animal Crossing: Wild World. During this time, the villagers will have their houses cheerfully decorated with holiday lights, and it’s up to you to decide who has the best lights!

brightnightsevent
Let’s judge some holiday lights!

I waited until the last day of the event to play. I chatted with Tortimer about the event, and he had some insight, as always.

I then walked around to everyone’s house to check out their lights. Playing this event kind of got me in the mood for Christmas all over again! Check out everyone’s houses below.

In the end, two houses really stood out to me. Besides decorating the front of their houses like everyone else, Robin decorated her roof, while Kabuki decorated the side of his house.

I decided to pick Kabuki as the winner. They all looked great though! I don’t think he gets any sort of recognition for winning though, besides maybe a post on the bulletin board.

kabukiwinner

That’s it for Bright Nights in Animal Crossing: Wild World. Good night!

Yay Day in Animal Crossing: Wild World!

Ok, I really suck. I don’t know how I managed to totally screw up my January calendar of events for Animal Crossing… I must have been sleeping when I made it or something! I thought Yay Day was today, but it was last Sunday! So, time traveling I went…

Yay Day is a simple little holiday in Wild World where the whole point is to give compliments to your fellow villagers. They will give you compliments as well! It’s a very sweet idea, but sometimes it can backfire, as you will soon read…

itsyayday
Yay!

The main way a conversation will go is like this: The villager gives you a compliment…

thanksstitches
And you’re so cute!!

They then ask you for a compliment. which you type in…

And they thank you for it and become very flattered! Well, sometimes. Sometimes they don’t understand what you are saying for whatever reason, but they are happy anyway.

elmerdoesntgetit
I said to Elmer what I said to Stitches. Stitches understood, he didn’t. Oh well!

Sometimes, crabby villagers like Kabuki will compliment you…

kabukicrabby1
Um, thanks, gonad!

Then they will subsequently ruin it by acting like a jerk! I love you anyway, Kabuki.

The worst thing, though, is when they absolutely hate your compliment! Why is that even a thing? Shouldn’t they be grateful?! Just look at what Antonio said to me:

After Antonio’s shit, I was in no mood to give out anymore compliments. I ran into Pate and gave her a silly compliment that she actually ending up loving. Phew, there is some redemption for this holiday!

pateyayday
Whew, I was worried…

Besides participating in Yay Day, I took a moment to say hello to my newest villager, Kitt the kangaroo. She is very cute!

welcomekitt

I also tried to talk Twiggy out of moving. Hopefully she listens!

dontmovetwiggy
Don’t go, Twiggy!

That’s it for Yay Day in Animal Crossing: Wild World. Bye for now!

Fishing Tourney in Animal Crossing: Wild World!

Today was the fishing tourney in Animal Crossing: Wild World. Any kind of fish is accepted, which actually can make things a little tricky! As with the New Leaf tourney yesterday, I fished later in the day in the hopes that it would improve my chances of winning.

fishingtourneytoday
Let’s do this!

When I started up the game, I checked my mail really quick. I was sad to see that there was a letter from Gladys saying that she had moved! Boo! She was one of my favorite villagers, and I’ve had her in my town for a long time. 😦

byegladys
Why did you leave me, Gladys?

After being bummed out by her letter, I headed over to Tortimer at the town hall to chat with him and see what the competition was like.

A sea bass is the biggest entry? Awesome! Sea bass are fairly common (okay, sometimes TOO common) and they are relatively big fish, so I thought that wouldn’t be too hard to catch. Sure enough, the first fish I reeled in was a sea bass!

seabasswoohoo
Off to a good start!

I kept fishing for awhile, catching a few more sea bass and some other smaller fish to sell off. When I turned the first sea bass in to Tortimer, he told me the record was now held by Stitches for catching a red snapper! WTF man!

Luckily, the next sea bass I had in my pocket was way bigger. Ha! I was back in the lead, and with only about 5 minutes to go, I thought I had it in the bag.

beatstitches
Beat that, Stitches!

I decided to stroll along the beach and see if I could catch at least one more fish. If you beat your own record, you get an extra prize from Tortimer! I did end up catching one, but when I turned it in…

You have got to be kidding me!! With two minutes left in the competition, someone beat me! Ugh! Talk about a rip off. I tried to see if I could hurry up and catch something else, but when I got to the beach, the clock chimed 6 p.m. and I was officially out of time. I tried to take a pic of the ending comment for the fishing tourney, but I was too late, so I ended up with this:

oops
Well, that’s… artistic.

Haha! Anyway, normally the next day you get a letter in the mail if you’ve won the tourney, plus it is posted on the bulletin board. This time, I know I didn’t win squat. Oh well. I’ve still got the fishing tourney in City Folk to write about, so stay tuned for that! Bye!

No More Debt!

Today, I finally did it… I finally paid off my house in Animal Crossing: Wild World! I needed about 90,000 Bells to finish my payment, so I spent some time yesterday and today fishing and digging up a few fossils until I reached my goal.

finallypaidoff
Yay!

Pelly seemed surprised by my accomplishment.

pellyhappy
Oh my goodness! Did you think I never would be able to do it? Bitch!

Meanwhile, my character couldn’t wait to go outside and shout the good news to the rooftops!

I then went to Tom Nook, who told me he could no longer expand my house.

I feel SO HAPPY that I finally paid my house off, but I also feel kinda sad. Paying off your mortgage is one of the main goals to attain in any Animal Crossing game- and *I* consider the game beaten after doing so. So, to finally be done after all these years is somewhat bittersweet! That doesn’t mean I will abandon my town, however! I still have my goal of playing all the holidays in every Animal Crossing game, so my town will not be forgotten.

With all that being said, it is time to pick a new game from my backlog to play and beat! I decided to look through my PlayStation 2 games, and I picked an odd one: Neopets: The Darkest Faerie! More on that in my next blog entry. Good night!
