Back in January, Art of Redress was kind enough to honor me with the Blogger Recognition Award!
I always really appreciate anyone who takes the time to read my little blog, and getting recognized from time to time means I don’t totally suck, right?? 😉
Anyway, here’s the rules for this award!
Say thanks to who nominated you and leave a link back to that person’s blog.
Done and done, if you read the first sentence of this post! 🙂 Art of Redress is seriously a great blog- every entry is really entertaining to read! Please check it out if you haven’t yet.
Give the story or history of your blog.
I’ve touched on this before, but I’ll do a little recap anyway. I’ve always enjoyed writing in any form- short stories, journaling, etc. I’ve kept several online journals throughout the years, though none of them stuck around. A few years ago, I started reading a couple gaming blogs and found I really enjoyed the content. For awhile, I just lurked around and never wrote anything, haha! Then finally I decided what the hell, let me try this blogging thing out. I chose to blog about video games since that is my favorite hobby and I could blab on for hours about them! 🙂
Give two or more pieces of advice for new bloggers.
Are you sure you really want to listen to advice from someone with the user name DefyTheMajority?!? Haha! 🙂 Anyway, here’s my best advice.
#1: Don’t worry about being too formal! Blogging is supposed to be fun. I myself am a very casual blogger and when I write, I try to write as if I am having a conversation with a friend. I’m talking about video games here, not submitting a dissertation.
#2: Don’t put pressure on yourself to follow a schedule! I’m not saying blogging schedules are a bad thing. I have several friends I follow who always post on a consistent basis, and I do envy that. However, if I try to set a schedule for myself, it just makes me feel pressured. When I feel pressured, I end up not doing anything. Don’t stress yourself out!
#3: Blog about what you love. If you write about something you love, whether it be your favorite hobby, recipes, parenting advice, etc., if you feel passionate about it, it’ll be much easier to write about!
So there ya have it! The last two rules were to nominate other bloggers and leave comments telling them that you did so, but… you know me! I nominate everyone! Woo!
Awesome blogger Art of Redress nominated me for another blogging award, this time the Mystery Blogger Award! As far as what the Mystery Blogger Award is… I’m stealing a quote from a quote that was already stolen. Woo!
“Mystery Blogger Award” is an award for amazing bloggers with ingenious posts. Their blog not only captivates; it inspires and motivates. They are one of the best out there, and they deserve every recognition they get. This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging; and they do it with so much love and passion.
With that being said, here’s all the rules:
Display the award logo on your blog.
List the rules.
Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
Mention the creator of the award and provide a link as well.
Tell your readers three things about yourself.
Answer five questions from the nominator.
Nominate from 10 to 20 bloggers.
Notify the bloggers by leaving a comment on their blog.
Ask your nominees any five questions of your choice, including one weird or funny question.
Share the link to your best post.
So let’s get started! 🙂
Three facts about myself!
1. It’s taking me a long time to come up with three interesting facts. Seriously. I don’t know what my problem is, but I must be really boring or something, because I can’t think of anything interesting to say about myself.
2. I love horror movies, but I don’t ever really get scared. I mean, I’ve been a bit unsettled at times, but I know everything is fake, so I don’t get worked up. In fact, a lot of time when the big scary demon/ monster/ psycho killer is revealed or is in action, it makes me laugh. Maybe there’s something wrong with me.
3. I could live off of french fries and potato chips. I realize that’s not the healthiest of diets, but some days, I just don’t care 😉
And now, here’s the five questions I was asked!
1. Do you follow a sports team? (I’m an Everton fan, though my interest has waned of late!)
I’m not big into sports, so I don’t follow a particular team or anything. I have to say that I really love watching gymnastics though! I’ve always harbored a secret desire to be a gymnast- I even took lessons when I was younger, until the trainer moved away and my mom wouldn’t drive me to their new location because it was too far away! If an adult gymnastics class ever opens up near me, I’m in- I’ll probably kill myself, but it would sure be fun to try!
2. Do you have any tattoos? If not, what tattoo would you get? (I haven’t got any, though I’d love to get one…just not sure what to get)
I have 10 tattoos right now… I LOVE tattoos! I think they are so beautiful and a great form of expression. Surprisingly only one of my tats is video game related, but every single one of them is meaningful to me. I do have at least one other tattoo planned- a phoenix of some sort. I just keep putting it off, and now it’s almost time to swim, which means I won’t get it done until maybe the fall! (I like to get a tattoo when it’s cooler, that way it has more time to heal before I subject it to sun and water!)
3. If you could share an apartment with any video game/film/TV character, who would it be and why? (I reckon Max Payne would be pretty quiet and there would always be painkillers available)
Hmmm… this is a tough one, as I don’t like sharing my space with people (excluding my husband of course)! I think almost any character would get on my nerves at some point. Yes, even Kirby- come on, he’d eat all my damn food and not feel bad about it! Maybe I’d go ahead and pick Snorlax. Yeah, he’s huge and eats a lot, but he would sleep most of the day away, and he’s super squishy and cuddly. I could live with that!
4. What’s the saddest song you’ve ever heard? (Nutshell by Alice in Chains for me, especially the Unplugged version)
There’s a couple songs that could probably answer this question for me, but I’m going to go with “Ashes of Eden” by Breaking Benjamin. Not gonna lie, this song literally made me cry every time I heard it after my grandfather passed away last year. (only in my car, not ever actually in front of anybody GEEZ!) I normally don’t go all mushy, but something about this song brings out the sadness. Here’s a snippet of the lyrics:
Are you with me after all… Why can’t I hear you? Are you with me through it all… Then why can’t I feel you? Stay with me, don’t let me go… Because there’s nothing left at all… Stay with me, don’t let me go… Until the Ashes of Eden fall.
If you feel like crying, go listen to that song.
5. What would the title of your autobiography be? (Mine would just be ‘Redression’ with a picture of me made from copies of Dynamite Dux)
Plot twist: my autobiography wouldn’t have a name. The cover of the book would be all black, just like my soul. And the inside would contain a bunch of random blurbs and pictures of animals. It wouldn’t make much sense, much like I don’t make sense in real life.
So there you have it! Five random questions that were super fun to answer! 🙂 Oh and as for a link to my best post…. I dunno, you pick one and pretend I gave a link to it! Thanks again to Art of Redress for nominating me 😉 If anyone wants to answer these questions, please feel free!
Back in January, Retro Redress (now known as Art of Redress!) nominated me for The Unique Blogger Award! I really appreciate it! 😉 There’s a couple questions to answer, so let’s get to it!
1. What is the one game that you just can’t beat? A game that you enjoy playing and have devoted lots of time to, but just can never get to the end?
The game that comes to mind for me is Bust-A-Move for the SNES! I’ve had this game for a long time, and I’ve played the hell out of it. It’s probably one of my favorite puzzle games ever! Nevertheless, I cannot mark it as beaten, because I’ve always gotten stuck at level 99. There are 100 levels. I’m so damn close, but I just can’t beat level 99! I haven’t attempted to in several years, but I still get annoyed thinking about it.
2. What game do you think is underrated? A personal favorite that no-one appreciates?
I’m gonna go with a silly choice here. Back in 2012, my husband and I got our first smart phones and we were pretty excited about it, because it was a huge upgrade from our regular phones! I immediately went on the App Store and searched around for games that would be fun to play. One of them was called Kitten Sanctuary. It is essentially a match-3 puzzle type game, but it was really relaxing and fun to play! If you beat the level, you saved a kitten (from… aliens I think, haha). There were no stupid microtransactions and even the later levels were challenging but fair… literally no one I talk to has ever heard of this game, but it was one of my favorites! 🙂
3. What is the gaming challenge you would most like to complete? Is there one specific mission or collectible you want to get? Is it a personal thing that you always wanted to do, just to say you did it?
Listen, if I can beat a game and knock that number down on my backlog a little more, that’s challenge enough for me! 😉 I’m not one that needs to collect trophies or 100% every game. However, one thing I think would be neat for me to do is collect every piece of furniture in Animal Crossing for the GameCube. It’s a more attainable goal than in most of the other Animal Crossing games, since there is no DLC or region specific items to collect/ trade. I actually think I’m somewhat close to doing it, but I have to look back at my guide book and see! 🙂
So there you have it!! Thanks again for the award- I really appreciate it! 🙂 I have a couple other awards to get to as well, so hopefully I’ll be posting those soon!
A little while ago, I wrote about how my friend The Shameful Narcissist posted some questions after receiving a Liebster Award, and she invited everyone to answer the questions! I happily answered them and after I completed the whole damn post, released I had answered the wrong set of questions! 😉 Here’s the post where I answered all the wrong ones. So now, I’m going to attempt to answer HER questions… let’s see if I can do it right this time! 😉
1. When you read, do you visualize characters and settings? As in, do the words create images in your mind?
Most definitely! That’s what I love about reading. I have a pretty vivid imagination even as an adult, so I immediately take the words and form pictures in my mind. That’s probably why I get mad when I read a book and I’ve visualized characters and settings in a certain way, and then I see the movie version and it just doesn’t compare to what I see in my mind!
2. What’s your favorite kind of tea?
Well, I really love iced tea, especially lemon iced tea! I have a few different brands I like but Pure Leaf is amazing. I could drink that all day, every day and not get sick of it. I also love Arnold Palmers, which is a half iced tea/ half lemonade blend. I enjoy hot tea as well, especially Celestial Seasonings Sleepy Time Tea. I have to be careful with herbal teas though, because a lot of them make my heart race and that’s no fun.
3. What’s the best game you’ve played or watched this year so far?
2018 is still quite young, but I have tried out a few new games so far this year! This answer may come as a surprise, but so far the game I have loved the most that I first played this year would have to be Thumper for the PlayStation VR. To me, it is amazing and though it is perfectly playable without VR, I can’t imagine doing so. Being immersed in that game with your headphones on and that intimidating, anxiety- inducing music is just an incredible experience!
As far as games I’ve watched… I actually haven’t watched any this year so far! Weird, considering I do love watching people play games. I just haven’t had time to do so 😦
4. What’s the best book you’ve read this year so far?
Again, since 2018 is young, I haven’t read many books yet. Even so, I really have enjoyed Fluidus Rising and Mirror Sacrifice by the very talented Margo Ryerkerk! I did small reviews of both of these books here on my blog, so check them out if you’re interested! Her next book is supposed to come out soon, and I really can’t wait!
5. Do you prefer to watch a show one episode at a time or binge watch?
Most of the time, I prefer one at a time… makes the show last longer and gives me something to look forward to! However, there are a couple shows I just can’t do that with and I prefer to binge watch… Stranger Things, 12 Monkeys, etc.!
6. Do you prefer “people” names for pets or “non-people” names?
I don’t really care what other people do, but in general I like to name my pets “non-people” names. Naming your pets something fun and weird is part of the fun of owning an animal! 😉 Note that I do have a turtle named Bob, which is a “people” name… my aunt and uncle actually gave him to me as a Christmas present 20 years ago, and they called him Bob because he bobbed his head up and down in the water. The name just stuck for me, so I didn’t want to change it!
7. What would you change your eye color to if you could?
You know, I’m quite happy with the color of my eyes, so I wouldn’t necessarily change them! They are dark blue and they occasionally look gray… though if I’m wearing a blue shirt, they’ll look a little lighter 🙂
8. Do you tan or burn?
I am really pale so man, do I burn 😦 I often joke that if I just look at the sun, I’ll start burning, which is why I am a goth LOL. In reality, I do enjoy being in the sun, but I just make sure I wear a high SPF sunscreen and always reapply!
9. What’s your fictional/ fantasy job, as in, what would your job be if you lived in a fictional/ fantasy world?
Hmmm…. this is a tough one! So many cool choices! If I had to choose, I would say it’d be neat to be some sort of mercenary that goes after all the rotten assholes of the world… someone who takes them out and looks really cool doing it, then goes home and cuddles puppies afterwards!
10. What’s your favorite dystopian city?
I’m gonna go with an odd choice here and say New New York from the TV show Futurama! It may not be the first place that comes to mind when you think of “dystopian” but to me it still qualifies. It’s a dysfunctional, futuristic society that might still be all right to live in. Most other dystopian cities from novels and movies that I’m familiar with aren’t exactly fun places to be. In New New York, you never know what you’re gonna get! 😉
11. How close is your blogger persona to your IRL one?
This is pretty much me! I try to write my blog posts in a very casual way, as if I were actually speaking to you in a real life conversation. What you see is what you get- I don’t see a point in it being any other way! After all, I’m not trying to impress anyone here 🙂
Well, there you have it! I successfully answered the correct questions from The Shameful Narcissist! It is always fun doing posts like this. I have a couple other blogging awards I need to get to as well, so hopefully I’ll get those published soon!
Hey everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. The holiday season isn’t quite over yet, since New Year’s Eve is tomorrow (or “today” since it’ll probably be after midnight by the time I publish this post)! This time of year is always pretty busy for me, but I love being able to see family and enjoy getting into the holiday spirit. I’m always bummed when it’s over and life is back to normal in January! Anyway, I’ve got several posts planned for this blog, plus I have some fun future plans for this blog, so bear with me as I get caught up on everything! 🙂
A little while ago, my friend The Shameful Narcissist posted a Liebster Award with some fun questions! She tagged everyone and I thought I’d go ahead and answer them, even if I am 3 months late to the party. One day I’ll be all caught up on the posts I want to do! So, here’s my answers!
1. When was the last time you laughed? What at?
Disclaimer: I tend to laugh at the dumbest shit. And sometimes when I start laughing, I can’t stop! I’m easily amused. 😉 I laughed a little while ago at my dog Minnie, because she was playing with a toy that was pretty much the size of her, and she tripped over it. She’s a happy little thing though, so she just kept on playing!
2.What’s the weather like where you are? How does it affect you?
Surprisingly, it is cold here right now! Well, cold to me anyway. As someone who has lived in Florida all my life, if it’s in the 60s I’m cold LOL! The high today was only around 60. In the next few days, we actually aren’t supposed to get out of the 50s with lows in the 30s, and it’s supposed to rain. It is nice to have some “winter” weather, but it does make my head hurt and I get achy all over. I’m not cut out for cold weather, but I try to enjoy it anyway!
3. What thoughts keep you awake at night?
Grrr… a lot of things keep me awake at night! My mind tends to race at the most inopportune times. It’s not all bad thoughts, though. Sometimes I think about happy things! I kind of suck at getting enough sleep.
4. What conversations do you avoid?
All of them, if I can! I’m highly antisocial 😉 If I like you, you’ll know it, because I will talk!
5.If you were invisible for a week, what would you do?
Probably a bunch of slightly evil things! Mostly I think I’d just freak people out so they think a ghost is near them. Things like walk by and tap them on the shoulder, make stuff look like it’s floating in the air, whisper in their ears, you know… ghostly stuff. Then I’d go to restaurants and grab a bunch of freshly cooked french fries- don’t worry, I’d leave some money on the counter so I wouldn’t be STEALING. Am I a horrible person for wanting to mess with people? Yeah, maybe. It’s all in good fun though!
6. What’s the oddest thing you’ve ever seen? (Things on the internet don’t count)
Hmmm… there’s a couple things that could be in the running for this. I’m gonna go with the time I was at work in the back office and I happened to look out the window. I saw a man in a motorized scooter with a lawn chair and an American flag strapped to the back going slowly down the road… right into oncoming traffic. Cars literally had to swerve around him because he was just… in the middle of the road.
7. If you could live the life of any character in a novel, who would it be?
Um, I don’t know. I read a lot of horror novels, and I’d kind of hate to have most of those characters’ lives!
8). When do you feel most alive?
Most of the time I drag my ass around like a zombie, but I feel alive when I’m doing something I consider fun- whether that be video games, writing, hanging out with my husband/ animals/ family, etc. Life is meant to be enjoyed, and I feel like sometimes I don’t get to do that 100% because stupid shit like work, poor health, and crappy situations get in the way! I don’t really need an adrenaline rush to feel alive- I just want to do something that makes me happy 🙂
9. You can have a penfriend from any time in history, who would it be? What kind of letters would you write?
Although writing to someone from the past would be cool, I would want to talk to someone from the future! Say 1000 years from now… so 3018. They would tell me all about what technology was like, how much the world has changed and what I could do in my time period to improve life! That is, if computers/ robots/ whatever haven’t taken over the world by then… Did I answer this question right? Who cares, this is my blog!
10. Do you ever feel like you haven’t a clue what you’re doing and you’re about to be found out? What makes you feel like that?
Um, yeah, I pretty much always feel like that! I’m one of those “fake it til you make it” type people who can bullshit my way out of tight spots. Also, despite being in my 30s, I sometimes have a hard time believing I am an adult. I had a moment like that on Christmas… my cousin’s daughter asked me to cut a tag off of her toy, and I was like damn… I’m the responsible one here. As for what makes me feel like that, who knows! I just roll with it.
11. Would you like your home country to introduce basic income (everybody gets paid enough to live on whether they work or not)? How would it change your life?
Hmm, the last question is a serious one! I am not going to get all philosophical or preachy here, but the bottom line is this: everyone deserves to have basic comforts. We are all human, and one person is not more deserving than another. Namaste, bitches!
Oh my god… I just made this entire blog post and I realized something. I answered the wrong fucking set of questions! The Shameful Narcissist wrote out 11 questions, and I accidentally answered the questions another blogger asked her! SHIT! Well… I think I will still answer her questions in another post later on, since I made this one all pretty and spent time on it. Oops!
Well, I hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year. See you in 2018!
A few weeks ago, my friend benez256 was awarded several blogging awards! He combined them into one post, nominated a few great bloggers (and myself, which is really flattering!) and told us that we could pick and choose the questions we wanted to answer! I’m going to answer the questions from the Entertainer Blogger Award!
1. What do you hope to gain from blogging?
As you probably know by now, I started this blog simply to entertain myself. I just wanted a place where I could write very casually about video games- almost “journal style,” if you will. I had no expectations for this blog at all, so I’m pleased to have gained some good friends that share my passion for video games! It doesn’t matter to me if I ever have thousands of followers or millions of hits… I just want to keep on having fun writing! 🙂
2. What genre of film entertains you the most?
Horror, without a doubt. I love anything with ghosts, demons, vampires, etc. The scarier, the better!! Not only am I a fan of more blatant horror, but I love psychological thrillers too. In close second to horror is comedy- I love to laugh! I realize these two genres really contradict each other, but I’m a weirdo, what can I say…
3. Do you consider yourself a writer, and what inspires you to write?
I don’t consider myself a writer in the traditional sense. I purposely keep my writing style very casual because I want it to be as if we are friends just chatting about our hobbies. As far as what inspires me to write… everything does! At any given moment, I have many ideas for what I want to write about running through my head.
4. What is your biggest pet peeve?
Hmm… I’m going to have to go with random, annoying noises. I don’t know what it is about incessant clicking, scraping noises, or random beeping, but it puts my brain into instant rage mode!
5. Why did you choose your particular WordPress username?
Haha, this is a great question! So, when I was a teenager, one of my favorite CDs was Land of the Free? by Pennywise (a punk-rock band, for those unfamiliar). My little goth heart was thrilled by a song so sweetly entitled “Fuck Authority.” I still love this song! 😉 Anyway, the lyrics are great, especially the part that says “Fuck authority… defy the majority…” The phrase “Defy the Majority” really struck a chord with me. To me, it doesn’t necessarily mean go out and be an asshole for no reason… it just means be yourself, do whatever is good for you no matter what the mainstream says to do! Many years later, when I started this blog, I figured “Defy the Majority” was a great name for it.
By the way, also many years later, I realized that they were not saying “defy the majority” at all… they were actually saying “silent majority.” WHAT! MY WHOLE LIFE WAS A LIE! I can’t believe I misunderstood the words for so many years. Whatever, at least I got a cool motto out of it!
Well, thanks for reading! And thanks again to Benez256 for nominating me, I really appreciate it! If anyone wants to answer any of these, I’m nominating everyone, so feel free to do so! 🙂
I mentioned a week or so ago that I got nominated for a blogging award called the Sunshine Blogger Award, thanks to my friend The Shameful Narcissist. It was so sweet of her to nominate me and I am really honored to accept your award! 😉
Here are the rules for the award!
1. Thank whomever nominates your blog.
2. Indulge yourself and answer any questions you feel happy to answer.
3. Spread that radiance to some other awesome blogs to keep the light shining brightly.
4. Use these questions or make up your own to ask your nominees.
5. Tell your nominees that they have been nominated.
6. Put your preferred logo award on display (I just Google searched “Sunshine Blogger Award” and picked this nifty logo!)
So, here are the questions The Shameful Narcissist had for me!
1. What’s your favorite story of all time? Media doesn’t matter.
This is a really tough question! There are so many stories I love, it’s hard to choose just one, but I do have one book series that I could read over and over. That series is Harry Potter! I could go on and on about why, but basically I just love the magic and the excitement and the fact that Harry’s world is so well crafted and interesting.
2. What fictional world would you most want to live in and why?
Haha… can I live in Harry Potter’s world too? Seriously, the Muggle world seems so damn boring and uninteresting after reading about magic! I could do without Voldemort and his bullshit, but hey, it would still be kinda cool to fight him.
The alternative would be living in the Animal Crossing universe. Seriously, think about it! You get to be around a bunch of cute animals, you pay off your mortgage by selling fruit and fish, and there are no people around to bother you! Sounds good to me.
3. What’s the most beautiful song you know?
This is a funny question for me to answer, because I mostly listen to hard rock/ heavy metal, so a lot of the music I like isn’t really considered “beautiful.” However, I also happen to love Christmas music- something about it just fills my cold little black heart up with joy! 😉 There is a song called “For the Beauty of the Earth” that I guess is actually a church hymn, but is sung by a band called BarlowGirl. I don’t know much about them, but they have really nice voices! Anyway, something about this song really resonates with me and I have no idea why.
4. What’s the most ridiculous/ obsessive thing you’ve ever done for a fandom/ obsession?
Hmm… to be honest I can’t really think of anything! Well, unless if you count collecting things. I love anything with Kirby on it of course. I also have 7 different Animal Crossing games and 2 more that I am importing that should be arriving soon… yeah, that might be a bit of an Animal Crossing obsession. I am not ashamed! 😉
Bonus question: Would you rather have every Wednesday off or a three day weekend/ four day work week?
Wednesdays off sound very tempting, but I would go for the three day weekend/ four day work week! I’d rather just get all the work out of the way and have more days off in a row!
Now, The Shameful Narcissist and I have a lot of the same blogging friends, so a lot of you have already been nominated for the award! I don’t want to pester you guys with double nominations, but I would like to nominate two of my other of my blogging friends that bring a lot of sunshine to my blogging experience: DirtPoorDuchess and YvoCaro! You guys are always there with kind words and interesting comments, and I really appreciate you! 🙂 In any case, please consider yourselves all nominated by me! I don’t want anyone left out!
Here’s a few questions if anyone wants to answer them!
1. What is your favorite season?
2. What is your favorite place you’ve been on vacation?
3. How long have you lived in your current city?
4. What is your favorite breed of dog?
There, those are completely random questions! 😉 Like I said, everyone is nominated, so feel free to answer any or all of these questions! Thanks to everyone who reads this! 🙂
Like I mentioned yesterday, I was recently nominated for the One Lovely Blog Award by fellow blogger bobaandgames!
That was really sweet of her to nominate me, and I really appreciate it!! Here are the rules of the award:
Thank the person who nominated you and link their blog
Add the One Lovely Blog Award to your post
Share 7 things about yourself
Pass this on to as many people as you like (max 15)
Include this set of rules
Inform your nominees
All right, here are 7 things about myself! 🙂
1. Despite the fact that most people who know me call me “goth” and joke about my love of all things dark, I actually really love being at the beach and out by the pool. I love the peacefulness and beauty of the ocean, and I love to float on a raft in the pool and relax the day away.
2. I really love tattoos and piercings! I would probably be covered up in them if it weren’t for Michael’s protests 😉 I currently have 10 tattoos and 12 piercings.
3. I am a huge animal lover. I love all things fuzzy, furry, scaly, slimy, and everything in between!
4. With that being said, I have had my turtle Bob for 19 years! My aunt and uncle gave him to me as a Christmas present all those years ago, and he’s been my pal ever since!
5. My dream car is a Dodge Viper. I was lucky enough to ride in one a couple years ago, and it was one of the most fun things I’ve ever done!
6. I love writing. I have a whole collection of stories I wrote as a kid! As an adult, there are many stories I’ve written, but never completed. Right now I’m writing a story based off of Super Mario RPG- only Mario and Co. curse a lot and are super sarcastic. I also have a bunch of journals I’ve written in since I was 9 years old.
*I was going to post a pic of all my journals, but they are still all packed up! Sorry!*
7. Since I’m writing a story based off of Super Mario RPG, you would be correct in guessing that it is my favorite video game of all time. Ever since the game came out in 1996, I have been obsessed with it. The storyline, the characters, the weird plot twists and turns- it fully captivated me! I have played through the game many times and have exploited every last secret in it- yet I can still go back and play it and enjoy it all over again!
So there you have it, 7 things about me! Thanks again for the award, bobaandgames! 🙂 As far as nominating others goes… consider yourselves all nominated! 😉 Thanks for reading!
In addition to receiving the Liebster Award, I also received the PANDA award from my friend YvoCaro! 🙂 Thank you so much for the award! I love your blog so much- I love reading your thoughts on games and life in general. 🙂
The PANDA award was actually created by fellow blogger Mr. Panda, who writes awesome game reviews and just seems like an all-around good guy! The PANDA award stands for the Play A New Day Award. If I may quote Mr. Panda from his site:
“I want to encourage others to play for another day. No matter what is going on, whether in the world, your country, your home, or even in your mind, I want you to play for a new day. We’re all in this together, and we can make it together.”
What a great concept for this award! I love the idea of encouraging others, because we all need it at one point or another. So, the rules for this award are pretty simple:
Thank the person who nominated you.
Nominate any number of people for the award.
Encourage them in any way, whether through thanking or complimenting them.
Like I said in my last post, I really appreciate everyone who reads this blog! So consider yourselves all nominated for this!! 🙂 I do want to give a special shout out to my friend dirtpoordutchess though. She was one of the very first people to follow my blog, and we have had so many fun conversations over the past year! Her friendship is truly appreciated.
All right, well it was fun writing about my recent awards! My next entry will be about the mobile game Lifeline. Good night!
As I mentioned yesterday, I was nominated for the Liebster Award by my fellow blogger retrOpia! I cannot thank you enough for this, retrOpia! I’m flattered and honored for the nomination, and I’m having so much fun writing this blog and interacted with people who love gaming as much as I do! With that being said, this is the Liebster Award:
1. Thank the person who nominated you and answer the questions they’ve written for you.
2. Nominate 5 to 11 blogs and give them different questions to answer.
All righty, let’s get started! 🙂 Here’s the questions retrOpia had for me:
1. Who is your favorite Muppet?
I’m gonna have to be pretty basic here and say Kermit! I love frogs, and I’ve always thought Kermit was pretty cute!
2. What are your favorite and least favorite DC Comics films?
Favorite: Hmm, this is a tough one, but I think I’m gonna have to go with Batman Returns that came out back in 1992! I saw this movie as a kid and it just stuck with me all these years!
Least Favorite: This probably won’t come as a surprise, but… Catwoman. Just… no. No thank you.
3. If you haven’t already or are at the legal age but haven’t done so, would you ever drink alcohol or do you prefer normal beverages?
Ah, how I wish I was still somewhere near the age of 21… lol! I have definitely had my fair share of alcoholic beverages and still enjoy them from time to time, but honestly, I just like drinking tea now. Or flavored water. My 21-year-old self is hanging her head in shame somewhere…
4. Who is your favorite Marvel character?
Now this is a very difficult question! There are so many great characters it’s hard to choose just one! Honestly, though, I’ll just go with my gut instinct, which is Deadpool! I love him because he’s kind of like the asshole anti-hero, and he’s really just a lot of fun.
5. Who is your favorite video game antagonist?
This may seem like a really oddball answer, but I LOVE K. Rool from the Donkey Kong Country series! For whatever reason, he captured my attention as a kid and he was always someone I loved to hate in all the DKC games. I thought it was hilarious that he was a king in the first game, a pirate in the second and a robot… thing in the third! Plus he was fun to fight!
Well, it was fun answering those questions! Now for the hard part… nominating other bloggers! I don’t want to leave anyone out, and I know some of you have already been nominated for this award, so what I’m going to do is nominate my 5 most recent followers to show my appreciation for checking out my blog! They are:
1. What is your favorite video game?
2. What was the first video game you ever played?
3. What is the worst video game you’ve ever played?
4. Do you have any video game related tattoos?
5. Do you like to play board games?
Please don’t feel under any obligation to answer my questions if you’ve already accepted this award in the past! Thanks to everyone for reading, and my next entry will be about the PANDA award! 🙂
