What I’ve Been Playing Lately!

I know I haven’t been very good at posting much about the games I’ve been playing lately- sorry! It was fun to do my “Gaming Week in Review” posts, but it started to become a little bit of a chore. I feel like when it’s time to sit down and play a game, I want to just PLAY it, not worry about taking screenshots and remembering what I was doing to give a play by play of it later. So, I figured if I did more of a summary post of what I’ve been playing, that would be easier and more fun to do! Doing this once every few weeks or so is much less stressful than trying to put out a post like that every week.

Anyway, I’ve decided that I’m going to follow a format for gaming that I came up with awhile back: I’ll try to focus on one console game, one handheld game, and one mobile game at a time so that I actually finish more of my games! 😉

With that being said, the console game I am currently playing is still Harvest Moon: Animal Parade for the Nintendo Wii. I am still loving this game! I’ve made considerable progress since the last time I posted about it. There are 5 bells to ring in order to restore power to the Harvest Goddess and get everything running as it should be, and I’ve already managed to ring 4 of them! The only one I have left is the Purple Bell, which is literally going to take forever. You have to become friends with 10 people and hear their wishes. Once you hear their wishes, you take the wish to a shrine because they can’t seem to do it their damn selves!

I haven’t quite become friends with anyone yet, though I am currently working on Owen. I also want Owen to become my husband, so I give him the gift of rice every day and he is warming up to me, haha!

owengift
He gave me a gift… I think he likes me! 😉

Honestly, it doesn’t bother me that it is going to take awhile to ring the Purple Bell. I have so many upgrades I need to make to my farm, and there are so many different things to do, this game will keep me busy for a long time! Here is a screenshot of my current progress:

currentprogress

And this is how much money I’ve made so far. Not bad at all!

60daysin

As far as handheld gaming goes, I’ve decided to forge ahead with The Legendary Starfy for the Nintendo DS. It is a fun game, but for some reason I play it, then put it away for long periods of time without actually finishing it! I’m going to try really hard to see this to completion, though. The last level I beat in this game was a boss battle against King Ping:

vskingping
Starfy is happy, but I’m aggravated!

This guy was a total annoying douche who killed me a bunch of times because the attacks in this game are extremely cheap and you die way easier than you actually should! Ugh! I finally beat him though, and now I am getting ready to enter Sogwood Forest, which should be super wonderful.

sogwoodforest

World 4-1: Sogwood Forest: In a Fog is the exact name of the level I am currently on, in case you care!

In the world of mobile gaming, I’ve picked back up Juice Cubes on my iPhone! It’s a cute little game I’ve played before but never beaten, and the developers have added many levels on since the last time I’ve played. This game has a fun summertime vibe that I figured is perfect since it’s now summer! I’ve started from the beginning just to get myself re-acquainted with the game, so I’m only on Level 3!

level3
The “Target Score” is actually just my high score since I’ve already beaten the level. I don’t know what the original Target Score is!

level3jc

Even though there are three main games I am focusing on, there’s always room to play one of the Animal Crossing games! 🙂 Currently I’ve been playing Doubutsu no Mori for the Nintendo 64. I want to finally pay off my house! So I’ve been fishing, digging up fossils, and shaking trees to try to make tons of Bells! It’s been raining every time I play lately, but I don’t mind. The rain is soothing in all of the Animal Crossing games!

rainrain
I just realized how much this screenshot sucks- you can’t really tell it’s raining! Oops!

I currently owe 339,000 Bells on this current expansion, so it’ll be awhile before my house is paid off.

makinghousepayment

There’s also always room to play Pokémon GO as well! I’ll do a separate post at the end of the month to fill you in on the new Pokémon I’ve acquired! 😉

So there you have it for the games I’ve been playing lately! I wish I had more time to play, but what else is new!

First Impressions: Harvest Moon: Animal Parade!

Like I first mentioned awhile back, one game that I’ve had for a long time but never played is Harvest Moon: Animal Parade for the Wii. I’ve always thought the game looked adorable (and I love Harvest Moon!) but I just never got around to playing it! Doing the Four in February challenge finally made me start playing it… and I’m glad I did!

harvestmoonanimalparadetitlescreen

The game starts out with you riding on the back of some random dude’s cart off to your new farm. It looked suspicious to me, but my character didn’t seem to mind.

begingame

Upon arriving at my new farm, my teeny little friend Finn (who constantly buzzes around my head) asked what the name of the place was. When I saw what was automatically written in for me, I laughed out loud!

mistyfarm

Misty just happens to be my cat’s name! Of course, I kept it. So now I live on Misty Farm, haha! Anyway, I took some time to wander around my property, and it’s really cute!

myfarm

Why the hell do I have to purchase something that’s already on my land though?! Talk about lame!

purchasefarmplot

Anyway, I met the mayor of the nearby Harmonica Town, who told me to go meet everyone.

talktohamilton

Never mind meeting the people- first I ran around and approached every animal I could find! 🙂

I then talked to the townsfolk. Most were pretty nice, but on the whole, everyone seemed… depressed.

Why isn’t anything working right around here? After meeting everyone, my next goal was to talk to the Harvest Goddess. First, I had to feed this lame ass guy who couldn’t go get his own food. He needed to fix the bridge, but couldn’t do it on an empty stomach.

boneedsfood

I had to go to Flute Fields (another nearby community) to buy him what he needed.

Once he ate and fixed the bridge, the Garmon Mines area was opened to me. I met everyone in town. They, like folks in Harmonica Town and Flute Fields, seemed depressed as well.

I then made my way to the Goddess Spring, where I was stopped by some pissed off animals!

angryanimals

Apparently I needed and “animal whistle” to be able to communicate with them. It was a bit of a wild goose chase to acquire one, but I finally got it. I befriended the animals guarding the Goddess Spring, then walked down the path that led me to the Harvest Goddess!

She explained to me that the elements of earth have all lost their strength and vitality, which is why everything sucks everywhere. She asked the Harvest Sprites to ring their bells, but they were too weak. So now it’s MY job to find the sprites and ring the bells. Uh, aren’t you the Harvest Goddess?! Why can’t YOU do it?!

Conclusion:

I love this game so far! There is a lot of stuff to do, but you never feel rushed! I love all of the characters and the animals are adorable too! I’ve already completed several tasks and I’ve found one bell and restored its power (I just have to ring it!).

If I have one small complaint about the game, it’s the fact that your stamina dips way too quickly. Just taking care of my crops in the morning depletes my stamina way more than it should, and raising it back up requires buying food (that is way too expensive) or eating a stupid mushroom that barely does anything for you. Despite this, I am having a great time with this game! It’s quite a long game, but I hope I can beat it within a reasonable time frame! 🙂

Four in February (in March) Progress, Week 3!

Well… damn. This week wasn’t very productive either!

One Game I’ve Been Playing Anyway: Super Mario Run!

I continued playing Super Mario Run a little bit this week, and I had enough Toads to unlock a Rainbow Bridge, which expanded my kingdom!

newarea

I haven’t put anything there yet (though I did get rid of the Thwomps) but I plan on decorating that area soon!

I was also really excited about the update which gives you the opportunity to unlock several different color Yoshis! I was not, however, impressed with the criteria for unlocking the Red Yoshi:

crazyrequirementsredyoshi

9999 total Toads and 1000 Yellow Toads?! Are they nuts? It’ll take me forever to get to that point!

Anyway, I’ve collected all pink coins up to World 2-1. It’s a bit of a grind to collect coins, but I’m not sick of it yet, so that’s a good thing.

pinkcoinsthroughworld2_1

One Game I Should Have Definitely Beaten By Now- Pokémon Blue!

Nothing to see here, carry on…

One Game I’ve Had Forever And Haven’t Touched- Harvest Moon: Animal Parade!

Yes! I did start playing this game! Go me! I’m gonna do a First Impressions post for it eventually, but here’s the title screen:

harvestmoonanimalparadetitlescreen

It is a really cute game and I love it so far! I’m currently on Year 1, Spring, Day 3.

One Game Together: ZombiU!

Sadly, no progress made here.

Bonus Game: Pokémon GO!

Friday night we finally went into an area where there are several Pokéstops, so I was able to replenish my stock of Pokéballs! I caught a couple new Pokémon, including Yanma…

Mantine…

Totodile…

and Seel!

What a bunch of cuties! I then evolved one of my Evees into Umbreon!

I also reached Level 19.

level19

That’s it for my gameplay this week! I’m heading into the final week for my Four in February (in March) challenge, so let’s see if I can make more progress!

My Gaming Week in Review (2/26- 3/04)!

Console

Nintendo Wii

I popped in to say hello to my villagers in my Animal Crossing: City Folk town of Spookie this week. The snow has melted, and spring is here!

springishere

So much green! I love all seasons in Animal Crossing.

somuchgreen

I was getting ready to say hello to everyone when I realized I had a letter in my mailbox from Queenie that I apparently already opened. I didn’t remember getting a letter from her, so I read it (again).

byebyebitch

HAHA YES! BYE BITCH! I don’t know how I forgot she moved away from my town, but I am very happy anyway!

Prince let me know that I had been gone for 8 months. Sorry buddy! Real life really gets in the way of my gaming life sometimes.

prince8months

Angus was all packed up and ready to move out, but I never got an option to be able to change his mind no matter how many times I talked to him! Bummer. He’s kinda cool.

angusmoving

I went into Nan’s house and was fascinated by the fact that she had a dung beetle as a pet. It was rolling poo round and round. Who wants a pet like that?

nananddungbeetle

Bella came up with a new nickname for me. I’ll take it, I guess…

bellanewnickname

Nintendo Wii U

As I mentioned in my Four in February… in March! post, Michael and I recently started playing ZombiU together! It’s a really fun game that makes you think about the actions you are taking- you can’t just run in, guns blazing, and kill all the zombies. I will write more details about our progress when I do an update on my challenge later this week, but for now, here’s the box art for ZombiU!

zombiuboxart

Handheld

No Handheld Gaming this week!

Mobile

iPhone

But OF COURSE I played more Pokémon GO this week! I caught a Wobbuffet…

a Murkrow…

a Ledyba…

a Wooper (who is SO CUTE)…

a Remoraid…

and a Party Hat Pikachu! Yay! He just randomly popped up in my house. I don’t know why, but I really love the special edition Pikachus 😉

I also played Super Mario Run. Obviously I haven’t written a First Impressions post of it. By the time I do, it’ll be more of a review, because I’ll be done with the game! Anyway, here’s the level I left off on:

smr4-3

PC

No PC gaming this week!

Misc.

No Misc. gaming this week!

So yeah, not a lot of time for gaming this week at all. I spent a few hours on ZombiU, but other than that, my game time was limited. That sucks!

My Gaming Week In Review (9/04- 9/10)!

Console

Nintendo 64

I finally revisited my Doubutsu no Mori town of Weezey- it’s been a couple months since I’ve played! Checking the bulletin board, I realized that there were fireworks every Saturday in August, and I missed them all! Bummer! A second notice on the board told me that there is a full moon (the harvest moon?) visible on 9/15, so I’ll have to try to remember to play.

It was pretty late when I played, so most of my animal friends were already asleep.

Since there wasn’t too much going on so late at night (or early in the morning, depending on how you look at it) I just walked around picking weeds and digging up stuff! I dug up some furniture, but when I placed it in my house…

stupiddoubleitems

It was two of the same item! How dumb!

While walking through town, I noticed a house I hadn’t seen before. The sign told me it belonged to Garigari (Nibbles in North America). She was already asleep though, so I decided to visit her the next day!

garigarishouse

The next day starting the game, there was a nice, steady rain. I had never bought an umbrella, so I went to the store and bought one. All they had was a red one with white polka dots, which isn’t really my favorite. It’ll do for now, though. While walking around, I noticed that TWO of my neigbors had the same umbrella! I guess it’s a popular style!

I then went and met GariGari. She is a little silly looking, but cute! The inside of her house was an eclectic mix of themes.

I also dug up 30,000 Bells, which was pretty awesome!

Nintendo GameCube

I also showed some love to my Animal Crossing town of Branvil this week. I haven’t visited there in a couple months, oops! Oddly enough, it was raining in this game as well.

rainrain

I got a very rude letter from my mom!

rudemother

What the hell! Anyway, after squashing roaches in my house, I traveled to Nookington’s, where I discovered the same umbrella I had just bought in Doubutsu no Mori for sale there as well! Too weird. I didn’t buy it, though, as I like my current flame umbrella much better 😉

samedamnumbrella

I then walked around and said hello to a few of my villagers who were still awake (they seem to go to bed much earlier in this game!). I also paused to watch Octavian stare at a fish in the pond, which was so cute! I woke up Gulliver, too, which took forever! He gave me a Mannekin Pis, yippee!

Besides that, I just walked around, pulled weeds and enjoyed the rain!

Nintendo Wii

I also showed a little bit of attention to my Animal Crossing: City Folk town of Spookie this week… and yep, it was raining there, too!

rainyspookieday

I knew I didn’t have a whole lot of time to play, but I still said hello to the villagers I ran into. Nan in particular seemed happy to see me!

nanhappy

I was so tired of my bedhead, so I stopped by Shampoodle for a new hairstyle. I was surprised when Harriet told me I would look good with a boy’s hairstyle, and she wanted to know if I wanted one! I hesitated for a moment, then decided to go for it! The result was very different… but I don’t mind it! 🙂

Lastly, I stopped by GracieGrace to see all the furniture I can’t afford! I really loved the cool psychedelic umbrella I found in there. It was only 3400 Bells, so I bought it! I also bought a new outfit at the Able Sisters, just to give the witch outfit I had been wearing for like 3 years a rest 😉

Nintendo DS

I visited my Animal Crossing: Wild World town of Booland this week as well- and came across something TERRIBLE!

stitchesmoving1

Stitches was all packed up and ready to move out! OH NO YOU DON’T! I cannot bear to think of Stitches moving away from me! I must’ve talked to him like 100 times, trying to convince him to stay.

Finally, just when I thought I wasn’t going to be able to convince him otherwise, he acted like he was leaning toward staying. Whew!

I also visited my other neighbors, who provided me with entertainment as usual! Sometimes they say the silliest things!

The next day, I had to play again to see if Stitches decided to stay in Booland or not. I was a little nervous, but once the title screen loaded, I was happy to see him walking around! Yay! I still played and talked to him, and he made no mention of moving. Stitches will remain in Booland for awhile longer! 🙂

I played a little bit of Crossy Road this week, which I haven’t played in awhile. I played several times, and I unlocked three characters, which were Epoch:

Pudding (wtf?):

and Capybara:

This is such a fun little game! It’s just perfect for when you have a couple minutes to pass, and I love unlocking new, weird characters!

I also caught several new Pokémon in Pokémon GO this week! They were Goldeen:

Zubat:

Clefairy:

Rhyhorn:

Nidoran:

and Caterpie:

I also hatched 3 eggs this week, which gave me a Spearow, a Geodude, and a Caterpie!

I also accidentally entered a Gym and started a battle. Needless to say, I got my ass handed to me. I knew none of my Pokémon were strong enough, but I didn’t know what I was doing! I need to read up on Gyms more before I start messing around in them.

shittygymbattle

Finally, I leveled up to Level 7 and got two new medals; one for catching 10 Grass-type Pokémon and one for catching 10 Bug-type Pokémon.

So, it was a pretty productive week in Pokémon GO! I am still enjoying this game a lot. Catching Pokémon and hatching eggs is so fun!

My Gaming Week in Review (8/28- 9/03)!

Console

Nintendo Wii

Last week, I dusted off my Wii Fit board and started playing Wii Fit Plus! Despite the fact that it had been a LONG time since I’ve played, I jumped right back in. I played for a couple days, trying out all the different activities to just get a feel for them once again.

This week, I played twice. I like to do a Body Test every time I play, just to see what my Wii Fit Age is. On Tuesday, it was 32- only 2 years above my actual age, so not bad!

wiifitage32

Despite this fact, the game felt it necessary to antagonize me a bit…

notmyforte

Anyway, I decided to focus on Yoga…

yogamenu

And despite my “poor balance” I managed to snag a high score on one of the exercises!

firstplacewoohoo

I played again on Thursday, took another body test, and was happy to see that this time my Wii Fit Age was 29! Suck it, Wii Fit!

wiifitage29

I focused on Strength Training this time…

strengthtrainingmenu

And the game found it necessary to antagonize me again!

notbalancedugh

Oddly enough, my right ankle was hurting me that day, so maybe there was some truth to that statement. Whatever! Then I did a plank and I cracked up…

bodybuilderlol

Those that know me would definitely not describe me as a body builder! Haha! Anyway, I am enjoying the fact that I have gotten back into this game. It has exercises that are easy enough for me to do without feeling like I am going to die, so hopefully I can stick with it for awhile! 🙂

Nintendo Wii U

I decided to show my Wii U some love this week and play Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival. Despite this being a slower-paced game, I still enjoy it. I’m months behind, so I picked the March 2016 board and started playing!

march2016

Goldie was the host of the game, and she looked adorable as usual!

hostgoldie

Right off the bat, I lost money on almost every space I landed on. Ugh!

losingbells

Lots of special characters came to visit, including Katie, Katrina, Phineas, Shrunk and Red.

Shamrock Day was the 17th, but nothing really special happened. 😦

shamrockday

There was a Fishing Tourney on the 19th. I caught a bluegill, which got me 3rd place.

fishingtourneytimecaughtabluegill

I laughed at one of the computer characters, who had an unfortunate incident:

hahaloser

The 27th was Bunny Day! Zipper T. Bunny showed up and told us to look for eggs. I earned 11 Happy Points for finding 11 eggs.

In the end, I got 3rd place. Oh well, I never seem to win when I play this game!

Nintendo Game Boy

I made a little bit of progress in Pokémon Blue this week! First of all, my Butterfree learned Poison Powder, yay!

butterfreepoisonpowder

Finally, I leveled up all of my Pokémon to Level 15, so I was ready to challenge Brock in the Pewter City Gym.

myteambefore1stgym

When I arrived at the Gym, some chump dared to challenge me while I was trying to find Brock. I made quick work of his Diglett and Sandshrew. In between fighting his two Pokémon, Squirtle leveled up!

After the battle, my Squirtle evolved into Wartortle! Hell yeah!

wartortle

I proceeded to Brock, who didn’t seem like that bad of a guy. I kicked his butt anyway! He had a Geodude and an Onyx, and I made quick work of them both.

Wartortle grew to level 17, too! I then received the Boulder Badge for my troubles.

Honestly, I think I may have leveled up a bit TOO much before that battle. My Squirtle/ Wartortle had A LOT of power. Oh well. On to the next Gym!

Nintendo 3DS

I took some time to pay a visit to my little look-alikes in Tomodachi Life, which I haven’t done in forever! It was pretty late when I played, so a lot of them were asleep. My look-alike (not surprisingly) was still awake and was playing with a puppy!

playingwithpuppy

I decided to give her a makeover and change up her interior design. She seemed pretty pleased with it!

mylookalikeupdated

Marge seemed pretty… thrilled to see me…

margethrilled

While Frankie was too hungry to think about anything else! I gave him some barbeque, which he loved.

Cheryl complained about her hair…

And I fed Diana something she totally hated! (Can’t remember exactly what it was though, haha!)

dianabadfood

Ryu learned to rock & roll…

ryurocksong

While Lee and Tové both wondered the same thing!

I discovered that although I had made her awhile ago, I had NEVER stopped in to say hello to Judy! Oops! I felt bad, so I fed her, gave her a new outfit, and changed her interior. Hope we are friends now!

I also realized that I had never spoken to David, but that’s not that big of a deal- I made him the last time I played, and turned the system off before speaking to him.

davidintro

I then created Jenn, who seems to be quite the happy camper, despite the scowl on her face!

Before I turned the game off, I noticed someone was on top of the tower. I zoomed in and witnessed Carolyn doing something incredibly bizarre. She was leaning backwards, staring at the sky. Occasionally she would wave emphatically! Was she staring at aliens? Is she just nuts? We will probably never find out!

As I wrote about in my last entry, I tried out- and quickly deleted- the monstrosity known as I Am Bread. Uggh! Moving on…

becominginedible

I had quite a productive week in Pokémon GO! In one trip,  I managed to catch a Krabby, an Eevee, and a Staryu!

I then hit Level 5 and caught an Oddish! I really like his little smile 😉

An egg I had been incubating hatched, but it was only a Rattata!

I then caught an Exeggcute!

After all that, it was time to choose my team. I listened as each team told me why I should join them.

In the end, I chose team Valor! I love the phoenix logo.

My next trip, I quickly caught a Bellsprout. I was heading through downtown in my city- there are a shit-ton of Pokéstops around here! Lucky me!

Next, I earned a medal for catching 10 Flying-type Pokémon. I was then thrilled to catch a Raticate! He was a little asshole too, he broke out of like 5 Pokéballs before I nabbed him! After catching him, I earned another medal, this time for catching 30 Pokémon.

Next, an Abra popped up, followed by a Nidoran! After catching those two, I leveled up, then earned yet another medal!

Overall, I would say it was a very successful week for Pokémon GO. I am still only playing it casually, and I am really enjoying it. I haven’t been to any Gyms yet to train, but hopefully I will soon!

So as you can see, I was able to enjoy several games this week, even if I didn’t play any of them for long periods of time. I am super happy when I get to relax and enjoy gaming, so it was a good week for me! 🙂

Valentine’s Day Across the Animal Crossing Universe!

Since Valentine’s Day isn’t a holiday in the Animal Crossing world that requires much player participation, I decided to combine the events into one blog post. Valentine’s Day is celebrated on February 14th (of course!) in all Animal Crossing games with the exception of Animal Crossing: Wild World.

First up is Doubutsu no Mori. Now, in Japan things are a little bit different. Barentein de (Valentine’s Day) is actually a holiday geared towards guys! On this special day, girls will send letters or gifts to the boys in their lives. So, if you are a male, you will receive a letter with a present from your female villagers. Since I am a girl, I didn’t get anything. That doesn’t mean that girls are left out, though- March 14th is Howaito de, and THAT is when girls receive their presents. Anyway, I snapped a picture of the bulletin board announcement for Barentein de:

barenteindeannouncement

Next up is Animal Crossing. Here is the announcement on the bulletin board:

valentinesdayannouncement

And obviously I did not heed Pete’s advice, because my mailbox was full! That means that I didn’t get any Valentine’s! 😦 I was kind of bummed about that. I even saved and played later, after mail would be delivered again- but I got nothing. Boo. I did, however, get a letter from the museum. Apparently I tried to send away my golden rod:

oops

What the hell was I thinking! I must’ve been asleep when I mailed that away! Good thing I didn’t accidentally send it to one of my villagers. Moving on…

In City Folk, Prince was my Valentine. He sent me a letter as well as a chocolate heart.

Here I am with my Valentine!

meandprince

Lastly, in New Leaf, I got letters from Isabelle and my mom.

Isabelle sent me a chocolate cake, while my mom sent me a spring shirt. Here I am pondering whether or not to eat the cake while wearing my new shirt:

valentinegifts

Also, please note that if you go to drink coffee from Brewster in either City Folk or New Leaf, it will actually be hot chocolate instead of coffee! This is a special Valentine’s Day treat.

That’s it for Valentine’s Day in all of the Animal Crossing games! Finally, I am all caught up blogging about February’s holidays. I didn’t mean to get so far behind! The only events left in February are a Fishing Tourney and a Flea Market, which I have blogged about before. See ya!

Festivale in Animal Crossing: City Folk!

Festivale was on February 8th this year in City Folk. It is a bit of a strange holiday! On the day of Festivale, confetti rains from the sky, and an insane peacock named Pavé dances around and demands different flavors of candy! Ooo-kay then!

I have played this event in the past, and I know it can be a bit time consuming. I decided to play for just a little bit and get at least one piece of Pavé furniture. First, Pavé wanted some green candy. Right on!

What makes Festivale so time consuming is the fact that if you have no candy left over from Halloween, you have to play games with your villagers to get a piece of candy. Sometimes you can choose the color of candy you want, but a lot of times, they will just give you a random color. And the games are totally up to chance, which means more often than not, you are going to be a big fat loser!

dammitilost
Seriously, what a pain!

After getting one piece of blue candy, I got my green candy!

I took it to Pavé, but…

fuckyoupave
Dammit!

OH MY GOD why didn’t you tell me that to start with! Ugh! What a jerk. I continued on my candy search. Luckily, I was able to score two more green pieces of candy without losing my ass too badly (the villagers will either take a piece of candy from you or 500 Bells if you lose their game).

I took my candy to Pavé, who thanked me and danced like crazy. He gave me a Pavé floor for my troubles.

Before quitting the game, I headed to my house to see what the floor looked like. I also brought my other Pavé items out of storage to see how it looked all together.

pavefurniture
The Pave set and Creepy set do NOT compliment each other well…

I actually do like the Pavé set. Maybe one day I’ll complete it!

That’s it for Festivale in Animal Crossing: City Folk. See you next time!

Groundhog Day in Animal Crossing: City Folk!

Groundhog Day in Animal Crossing: City Folk is a much more quiet affair than it is in the original Animal Crossing. Upon loading my game, there wasn’t even an announcement saying that it was Groundhog Day or anything like that! Nevertheless, I headed over to Town Hall. A quick check of the bulletin board explained a bit about the holiday.

groundhogdaybulletin
I vote for an early spring!

I spoke to Tortimer, and he said a couple words about Groundhog Day and how we still don’t know if spring is coming early or not! He then gave me a Resetti model. Um, thanks?

I spoke to him a couple more times, but he didn’t say much else. I headed to my house to check out my Resetti model. It fits in with my creepy theme!

resettimodel
Resetti always looks grumpy!

That’s it for Groundhog Day in Animal Crossing: City Folk. Good night!

Flea Market in Animal Crossing: City Folk!

On Sunday, Animal Crossing: City Folk had a small event known as the Flea Market. It’s pretty much exactly what it sounds like: some of your villagers allow you to come into their homes and purchase (almost) any item of theirs, as long as the price is right! If you enter your house, one of your villagers may even pop in and see if they can buy something off of you!

fleamarket
I know, I know. I still haven’t cleaned up my town or tackled my bedhead. Don’t judge me!

I basically just took a quick walk around town to see who was in their house. The first house I went into was Baabara’s- but she wouldn’t sell me what I was looking at. Ugh!

I ran into Prince outside, and his comment made me laugh.

happyprince
I do that all the time, Prince!

I also ran into Queenie, and I almost didn’t talk to her. She was a real bitch the last time I saw her! She actually had something NICE to say for once, though.

wowhownice
Um, I look like crap, but thanks!

I visited Ed’s house next. I didn’t really want any of his stuff, but I took a fun picture with him. His house looks too nicely set up for me to buy anything!

sillyed
Can he even see me?

The only thing I ended up buying from anyone was a tumbleweed, even though I don’t really know why I did it. It was only 147 Bells, so why not!

It does kind of fit the Creepy theme, I guess!

Anyway, I stood in my house for a minute to see if anyone would come in. I was just about to quit the game when suddenly, I had a customer!

Her name always makes me laugh, because my grandma’s name is Nan!

Awesome! She tried buying some of my Creepy Series furniture, which was a no-no! Suddenly, she had her eye on my tumbleweed. You know, the one I JUST bought. I wasn’t too attached to it, so I sold it for 300 Bells. Haha, I just made some easy money!

Sucker!

Oh, I also went into Nibbles house and discovered that she was moving. Bummer! I thought she was pretty cool. I wonder who will move in next?

Aww… bye, Nibbles 😦

That’s it for the Flea Market in Animal Crossing: City Folk. Good night!
